The owner of the sheep said he started with just a few sheep before others joined in. The baffling spectacle left people shocked and confused as they tried to make sense of the animals’ strange behavior. Mrs. Miao said he started with just a few sheep before other members of the flock joined in.
What makes a sheep go around in circles?
The likely cause of the sheep’s strange behavior is a disease called Listeriosis, which is a common bacteria/infection caused by spoiled food, inflames one side of an animal’s brain and causes the creature to exhibit strange behavior, such as walking in circles. Recovery is rare, but possible with early treatment with aggressive antibiotics and supportive care of affected animals.
In footage shot by CCTV, the sheep can be seen following each other in a circle. Other sheep are standing in the middle of a circle, some eventually deciding to join in the display. Others remained in the very center of the circle, completely still.

At the age of 56, 34 of them spent in civil aviation, Commander Daniel Medina Guimarães was one of the first to spot the strange lights.
